Hi, I’m Katie.
I earned my M.D. from Columbia University, and completed my surgical and critical care training at Massachusetts General Hospital where I then joined the staff. In an unexpected turn of events that was never part of my “plan,” the Lord then drew me away from academic surgery to homeschool my kids, one of whom is twice exceptional.
Titles aside, I’m broken, and I fail daily. Yet I rejoice in the grace and love of my Lord, the risen Christ.
I contribute regularly to desiring God and The Gospel Coalition, and have also written for Christianity Today. An index of my articles appears here. My book Between Life and Death: A Gospel-Centered Guide to End-of-Life Medical Care will be released by Crossway in April 2019.
On this blog, you’ll find thoughts on faith, medicine, motherhood, and moments in life that demand remembering. As a disclaimer, I may earn a small commission through the Amazon Associates program if you click on links I’ve posted.
Most of all, I’d love to connect with you. I hope some of the content here moves you, just as the fellowship with readers has so touched me.
Thank you for visiting. May God bless you and yours.
